In Ethiopia, the courts close for the "rainy season"and the Ethiopian New Year (September 11). The courts will be closing next week (which is later than usual) and should reopen the first week of October. Once courts re-open, the preliminary hearing for our adoption will be held in court. Assuming everything goes favorable, we receive a court date and then travel to Ethiopia to meet our little ones and attend court to legally adopt them.
Before traveling to court, we have close to $4000 of agency/adoption related fees to pay. We will also, of course, be purchasing plane tickets for the two of us to travel when the time comes (hopefully late October/early November).
To offset these costs, we have a Puzzle Fundraiser. We purchased 2 puzzles with a Bible verse for Yosef and Genet:
Here's how it works:
$20 buys 1 piece of each puzzle (2 total)
On the back of each piece purchased, we write your name and add it to the puzzle. The completed puzzles will be placed in clear frames with the names visible on the back. Each of our children will have theirs to hang in their room as a reminder of God's promise, love and provision.
The puzzles after 1 week: 72 pieces total We appreciate those who have sponsored pieces and encourage you to share with others on social media and help us spread the word! |
